The original 1892 design of Thalia Hall included 4 large opera boxes (6 guests) and 2 small opera boxes (2 guests) on either side of the theater’s proscenium stage. The opera boxes offer a unique and memorable experience and must be purchased as an entire box. All opera box tickets are will call only and non-transferrable. We DO NOT recommend purchasing any opera box tickets from third parties. Email info@thaliahallchicago.com for additional information.

All seated tickets are sold as general admission. Seat locations will be offered on a first-come first-serve basis when doors open for that evening’s performance. Guests should plan to arrive early to get the best seats, or to ensure that a large party is all seated together. Ticket holders that arrive after the performance has begun will be seated at the discretion of the house manager.

We are happy to accommodate large group sales. Please reach out to us at info@thaliahallchicago.com for more information.

For most shows, we try to open a small handful of tickets for purchase on the night of the show. When we do, tickets are first come first serve and available at the time of doors for in-person purchase only (no holds or reservations available). Thalia Hall strongly discourages all third party or off-platform resales of tickets. We unfortunately cannot aid, assist, or act as arbiter of any transactions through third party resellers, sales conducted through social media, through personal relationships, or any transaction that is not directly processed through Thalia Hall's ticketing platform.

Unless a show is advertised as seated, our shows are general admission and standing room only on the main floor. Balcony tickets are always seated and that will be noted as a separate ticket purchase option for some shows.

Yes, our door staff will be able to help you with getting a seat if needed regardless of ticket type.

Our venue is ADA compliant, both the main floor and balcony are handicapped accessible and we are happy to accommodate you. Our door staff will be able to help with elevator use if necessary and help you find the best spot based on your ticket.

Thalia Hall is working hard to become a more inclusive and welcoming space for all of our guests. We have two multi-occupancy gender-neutral restrooms in the venue, one with urinals and stalls (main floor of venue), and one with stalls only (balcony level of venue). There is directional signage that can help lead you to facilities on each level. Alternatively, there are single-occupancy restrooms available just one flight down the main staircase in Dusek's (street level), as well as multi-occupancy gendered restrooms one more flight down in Punch House (basement level). Re-entry back into the venue from all of these areas is a breeze. If you have trouble locating anything, just ask! We want your visit to be enjoyable and comfortable.

We at Thalia Hall Chicago believe that live music is an important part of building community. To make sure everyone has a chance to experience our shows, we reserve a set amount of tickets for each show to give away (at no cost) to community members who may not have the means to attend a show. You can request those tickets HERE.
